The West Park Historic District

West Park was created from the collective vision of a few for the solace and enjoyment of many. The arboretum, complete with a fountain and a band shell, is home to many rare species of trees. West Park provides the city  residents with a natural setting that offers rest and relaxation from the hustle and bustle of everyday living while adding to the rich cultural heritage of Allentown. In 2001 a portion of the neighborhood between 14th & 17th Streets and Chew & Court Streets was designated The West Park Historic District. This designation has the objective of preserving the exterior architectural beauty of the District’s homes. The residents of West Park are steps away from the renaissance occurring in downtown Allentown. The City of Allentown and the West Park Civic Association provide residents of Allentown and nearby communities with many opportunities for a rich menu of cultural activities set in the natural beauty of the changing seasons of the park.

The West Park Civic Association

The West Park Civic Association, a 501C3 Organization, was founded in 1976 to preserve, protect, enhance and promote West Park and the surrounding neighborhood. The Association’s goals include preventing park and neighborhood blight and deterioration, promoting enforcement of laws and ordnances and encouraging harmonious relations among the neighborhood residents.

This is a tour has something for everyone.

Come out and join us in celebrating the 36th Anniversary of the annual tradition!
