The skies cleared up and it was a gorgeous night for yet another amazing show at Levitt Pavilion/Steel Stacks in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This was my first time seeing Young the Giant in concert and boy were fans in for a treat! I really can’t think of a better place that I’d want to see an outdoor concert than this venue. The beautiful old steel structures light up the night sky and are a perfect backdrop for any show. I only know  a few songs from Young the Giant, but they managed to capture my attention throughout the entire show. They opened up the show by playing the songs “Amerika,” “Something to Believe In,” and “I Got.” The lead singer Sameer Gadhia had a contagious energy about him from the moment they started playing. I really enjoyed his dancing and overall passion for their music. I thought his voice sounded amazing and I couldn’t help but smile and get caught up in their performance. I was also 2 feet away from the band, so it doesn’t get any better than that experience ! I also noticed that most of the unique sounds in their songs are performed live (versus pre-recorded) with a variety of percussion instruments.

Although it was a lighter crowd than anticipated, their fans seemed truly engaged, singing, dancing, and cheering when they played their hits. They ended the show with an encore of one of their biggest hits,  “Silvertongue” and “My Body.” The audience seemed to enjoy the encore and actually the entire show, because they stuck around until the very end.

In summary, I definitely recommend checking out Young the Giant, especially in concert. If you’re an alternative music fan, you will not be disappointed. I know I’m about to go download their latest album and pre-order “Mirror Master.” For tour info, please visit, www.youngthgiant.com and check them out on social media at @youngthegiant.
