BETHLEHEM SPECIAL OLYMPICS is looking for volunteers for their 8th Invitational Swim Meet from 8am-4:30pm on Saturday May 11 at Liberty High School. Many volunteers are needed to enable this to be an annual event. Full day volunteers sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080f4bafaa22a5f85-2019. BOUTIQUE AT THE RINK, Bethlehem is an organization of Lehigh Valley volunteers dedicated to supporting cancer services in the community through the annual sale of new and gently used items. Volunteers are needed to sort donated items now through May 17 on Mondays & Wednesdays from 9am-7pm; Tuesdays, Thursday, Fridays; & Saturdays from 9am-1pm. Sorter volunteers can show up at the Rink during times listed; no prior paperwork needed. Volunteers are also needed for Sale Days May 28-June 1. CEDARBROOK SENIOR CARE and REHAB, Allentown needs volunteers to assist a knowledgeable lead volunteer at annual Plant Sale from 9am-4pm on May 9 (rain or shine) under a tent on their front lawn. COMMUNITY ACTION COMMITTEE OF LEHIGH VALLEY, Bethlehem needs many volunteers (preferably women) to help with their SHEs Unstoppable Middle School Girls Conference from 9am-2pm on May 11 at Broughal Middle School. GOOD SHEPHERD REHABILITATION NETWORK, Allentown provides volunteer opportunities for adults and youth, minimum age of 14. Day, evening, and weekend schedules available. Programs for community service, church group service arrangements, college/high school senior projects are offered. QUAKERTOWN BOROUGH has many volunteer opportunities available to help with their Annual Glow in the Park Run/Walk on Friday, May 10 from 6-10 pm. This family friendly night 1.5-mile walk/5k run will be followed by a Glow After Party with DJ, yard games, beer garden, vendors, and food trucks. Volunteer opportunities include registration, children’s activities, race packs, T-shirt distribution, water station, course marshal, finish line, and set up from 1-4pm prior to event. STRIVE YOUTH, Allentown will be holding an Entrepreneurship Day at Allen High School from 8:15am-6pm on Saturday, June 1. This program gives teens in grades 8-12 from around the Valley to gain the tools for succeeding as entrepreneurs. Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, registration, getting students from one activity to another, giving out lunches, after lunch clean-up, and break-down, etc. The following shifts are available: 8:15am-11:30am, 11:30am-2:30pm, and 2:30-6pm.
