As a Certified Clinical Trauma Therapist, Chow offers individual and couples therapy, and specializes in helping patients with a history of early child sexual abuse, abandonment, attachment/relational issues and neglect. As a licensed professional counselor, Chow offers Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) as an evidence-based treatment approach for trauma. EMDR has been proven to alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety in patients working through grief and loss. This empirically validated treatment approach is considered safe, without the many side effects of medication.
Chow offers her patients a highly personalized approach in resolving trauma, by using complimentary methodologies and techniques. By providing support and practical feedback to patients struggling with processing past trauma, she excels at guiding them on a path that brings future strength and personal growth. Chow cannot stress enough the importance in redirecting damaging patterns from past childhood trauma. Chow reminds her patients that everyone has pain from their past, and it is her mission to help her clients live full and happy lives.
Her patients in NYC have greatly benefited from her compassionate and solution-focused approach to care. Chow has successfully treated hundreds of patients – helping them resolve issues including depression, anxiety, stress management and childhood trauma.
