Enhancing Police Interactions with the Community



 

Community Workshop

A training program to help Allentown residents and the Allentown Police Department strengthen their relationships

Together Police & Residents will do the following:

Learn about the power of personal stories from community members and police to gain insight into their experiences

  • Recognize triggers and other obstacles that have elsewhere traditionally prevented building relationships with community members
  • Listen for and respect the emotional content in what community members communicate
  • Acquire a toolbox of ways to improve interpersonal communication by decreasing defensiveness, with particular attention to tone of voice and body language
  • Help enhance safety in Allentown

Session 1: January 17, 2017 at the Allentown Public Library (lower level)

Session 2: January 24, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital (Conference Center 2nd floor)                           Address: 421 Chew St. (6pm-9pm)
