Lehigh Valley Public Media and Keep Our Republic to host “A Community Conversation: Trust in Our Elections” on Wednesday, May 8

Bethlehem, Pa. – April 22, 2024 – Fair and secure elections are the backbone of democracy. But what happens after you cast your ballot? What’s true – and what isn’t – about our election process?

Lehigh Valley Public Media (PBS39, WLVR 91.3 FM and LehighValleyNews.com) and Keep Our Republic will cohost “A Community Conversation: Trust in Our Elections” on voting and election integrity in Northampton County.

It will be livestreamed on www.LehighValleyNews.com from the PBS39 studios in the Univest Public Media Center in Southside Bethlehem on Wednesday, May 8 from 6:30- 7:30 pm. It will air on PBS39 at a later date.

Keep Our Republic is a civic education nonprofit group focused on election integrity and trust in our electoral system.

Viewers will receive information on how the election process works, including what happens after they cast their ballots. This informative, nonpartisan event is dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of the 2024 election process and enabling our community to recognize and address misinformation.

The program will be moderated by LehighValleyNews.com Politics Reporter Tom Shortell. Panelists include:

  • Northampton County Executive Lamont McClure
  • John Jones, retired federal judge and President of Dickinson College, and Keep Our Republic PA advisory committee member
  • Chris Borick, Professor of Political Science and Director of the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion
