Coming Events

February 13-24 – District-wide Food Drive!

Every building in Parkland School District will be collecting non-perishable food to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley. Children from each school will be selected to go on a field trip to Second Harvest on March 1st to learn about the Food Bank’s operations. All of the food will be brought to PHS on March 1st so that the students can see the impact that we can make when our whole community comes together to help stamp out hunger.

February 16, Weller Center Life Begins Program for 5th Grade Parents, Fogelsville Elementary School Gym, 6:30–7:30 PM. The Weller Health Center is one of the region’s primary health education resources for schools and organizations. The Weller Center helps children make healthy life choices through preventive health education. “Life Begins” is an awareness assembly being offered to all 5th grade students to support and supplement the health curriculum. The presentation focuses on human growth and development where students demonstrate knowledge of the individual differences associated with these changes. Parents of 5th grade students are invited to preview this program. The presentation of “Life Begins” will be shared with your child in the spring.

February 16, Jaindl Elementary Winter Festival at Bear Creek, 5-10 PM. The Bear Creek Resort welcomes Jaindl families for skiing, snowboarding and tubing.

February 16, Community Advisory Council Meeting, 7 PM, Administration Center.

The public is cordially invited to attend the Community Advisory Council Meeting on February 16 at 7 PM at the Administration Center. The topic of the meeting will be “Parent Reunification / Safe Transportation” which will be presented by Anthony Naradko, the Supervisor of Transportation and School Safety.

February 17 – 20 – Schools are closed for President’s Day Holiday.

February 18, District XI Coaches Association Junior High Wrestling Tournament, PHS Gym.

February 23, Parkway Manor 24th Annual Science Fair, 6:30 – 8 PM. Take a peek at elementary school science projects as they will be on display in the cafeteria.

February 24, Fogelsville Talent Show/Book Fair, 7-9 PM

February 24, Jaindl Family Fitness Night

February 25, Angel 34 Award Ceremony, St. Joseph the Workers Church in Orefield, 1-4:30 PM.

Parkland School District will receive a 2016 “Sweet Pea” Award to acknowledge their work in the fight against childhood cancer (Angels in Disguise). Over the past four years, Parkland High School and Kernsville Elementary School have been leaders in the community making sure that “Every Child Has Its Own Angel During Their Battle with Cancer” by participating in fundraising events. The award will be presented at 3:15 PM during the 7th Annual Wine and Chocolate Event.

It’s time to register for Kindergarten!

All students who will be new to Parkland for Kindergarten or First Grade this fall should call their neighborhood elementary school now for an appointment. Not sure which school your child should attend? Just click on our handy school locator tool.

Order a Senior Class Yard Sign

Class of 2017 is selling yard signs to congratulate seniors. Signs will be printed

on both sides and come with the yard posts (see photo above of the sign graphic). They will be available in May 2017. You will be emailed when signs are ready to be picked up at the HS. Each sign is $22. Signs are vinyl, 24” x 18”, and come with yard posts. Checks should be

made payable to PHS Class of 2017. Forms can be submitted online at the following
