CEDARBROOK SENIOR CARE AND REHAB, Allentown has volunteer opportunities for youth (age 13+): Gardening Helper – water/weed the gardens; Resident Visitor – spend time visiting with a resident outdoors, weather permitting, or inside on a bad weather day. COMMUNITY BIKE WORKS, Allentown is looking for volunteers to teach the class in their Earn-a-Bike program. This program teaches students (ages 9-17) basic bike mechanics and safety over a 12 week course. Mentors aid students as they fix their bike and learn communication and teamwork skills. COMMUNITY HOPE/HOPE FOR VETERANS, Allentown needs volunteers to help reorganize their clothing and storage rooms at Mosser Family Village Center on Saturday, June 23. EASTERN PA DOWN SYNDROME CENTR, Trexlertown is supporting the “I Can Shine Bike Camp” at Easton High School from July 16-20. Volunteers are needed to be “spotters” for individuals with various disabilities as they learn how to ride a conventional 2-wheel bike. Various shifts available between 8am-4pm. Must be able to attend a 45 minute orientation at 4pm on Sunday, July 15. INDEPENDENT SENIOR TRANSPORTATION NETWORK LV, Bethlehem has a rewarding volunteer opportunity as a driver. Meet new people, make new friends, and provide seniors with a lifeline to medical appointments, grocery stores, or to visit a loved one. Choose the times, days, and areas you wish to drive. SACRED HEART HOME CARE & HOSPICE, Allentown needs volunteers to help with Camp Evergreen, a children’s bereavement camp, held at Camp Fowler in Orefield from 5-11:30pm July 28-Juy 29.  Children aged 6-16 learn to express themselves and their feelings after the death of a loved one. Arts & crafts, physical activities, games, song and discussion help campers learn new healthy ways to cope with the strong feelings that often emerge after a significant loss. VALLEY YOUTH HOUSE, Allentown is looking for volunteers to help move contents of The Holiday Inn at 9th & Hamilton to storage facilities of Valley Youth House. These items will be used to furnish apartments for homeless young people served by VTH. VOLUNTEER CENTER OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY, Bethlehem is recruiting high school students entering 10th grade for their goLEAD Leadership Program which will take place from 9am-3pm on Monday, July 16 to Friday, July 20.
