Earth Day 2020, falls on Wednesday April 22 and Celebrates its 50th Anniversary!

50 years of Groups & Individuals helping every day to Clean up Mother Earth, instead of celebrating just 1 day, Let’s band together and do our part All Week and All Year!

It just so happens that Arbor Day, falls on Friday April 24th which coincides with Earth Day this week.

What Earth Day means to me?

Even before I was in the Scouts, I had a passion for the outdoors, as my parents always had a plan to hike, fish, camp or travel to new destinations.

My passion grew as I did and I started to Volunteer for Outdoor Projects from Cleaning Streams to Planting Trees to Wildlife Rescue. Learning and giving back along the way.

Earth Day comes once a year and seems folks celebrate it for about a week cleaning up, etc. Every time I go fishing or hiking, I always carry a plastic bag in case I see junk along the trail and take it out with me. I was fishing last week after work and saw lots of leftover debris from fisherman (monofilament line, plastic hook linings, empty jars of bait, Styrofoam worm boxes), it hurts seeing this, and I wonder if these fisherfolk are true conservationists!

What Can We Do To Help?

If I’m anything, I’m an optimist.

The world can become a better place if — and this is a big “if” — we are willing to put in the work to improve it!

Luckily for us, Earth Day’s 50th Anniversary is upon us and it’s a great time for an environmentalist to make a difference in local towns, cities, across the country.

Changing how we purchase items, upcycle & recycle are little changes, however these little changes can make a World of a difference.
