This will be the fifth year PBS39 will hold this event but the first year it will be produced virtually and broadcast live.

Bethlehem, PA – April 12, 2021 – PBS39 has announced that its 2021 Good Neighbor Awards will be held on May 25, at 7 p.m. and will be both broadcast live and offered as a virtual event at no cost to the public. PBS celebrity guests Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., host of Finding Your Roots, Joan Lunden, host of Second Opinion, Jim Cotter, host of Articulate and Mike McGrath, host of You Bet Your Garden, will make appearances. News anchor and TV host Stacey Stauffer, best known for her appearances hosting QVC, will serve as the Emcee for this special event.

This virtual event will be broadcast on PBS39 and livestreamed at PBS39.org/live. To register for the official event where community members can engage in real-time, visit PBS39.org/GoodNeighbor.

The PBS39 Good Neighbor Awards are given each year in the spirit of Fred Rogers, who admired those who see a need and respond in times of trouble. This year’s event will honor our neighbors who immediately responded to the critical needs of our community amidst a year of unrest.

“We are so happy that we can bring back the Good Neighbor Awards this year in this virtual format. It’s incredibly important that we recognize that good neighbors live all around us and that we share our collective gratitude for their important contributions,” said Tim Fallon, Chief Executive Office of PBS39.

The night will feature interviews with community members around the valley, musical appearances from artists such as Craig Thatcher and appearances from more special guests. The evening will also honor local organizations, medical and mental health first responders and educators making an impact.

Funds raised as part of the Good Neighbor Awards will support education programs and community outreach initiatives in your neighborhood. To donate, please visit PBS39.org/donate.
