ALLENTOWN AREA ECUMENICAL FOOD BANK Board is seeking dedicated, compassionate, and energetic volunteers to assist in the fight against hunger in our neighborhoods. This is a “working” board focusing on continually reassessing and expanding our nutritional quality, creating a first ever Client Choice Pantry, maintaining ongoing supplemental programs and providing financial and strategic direction to ensure longevity and stability for our Food Bank. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville is open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. (Nov-Mar) and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Apr-Oct). We offer long & short-term volunteer opportunities for those (minimum age 13) interested in wildlife conservation. Masks and other COVID-19 protocols will be followed. NATIONAL MUSEUM OF INDUSTRIAL HISTORY, Bethlehem is seeking professionals to work with our Museum Specialist to restore industrial machines and artifacts for museum exhibits or programs. This requires a high degree of technical and mechanical skill, working knowledge of machines and tools, attention to detail, a willingness to learn, as well as knowledge of the objects being restored or conserved. NEW BETHANY MINISTRIES, Bethlehem – Please join us to make POPPIES OF REMEMBRANCE /LANTERNS OF HOPE kits for a new community fundraiser in partnership with Musikfest. Meet at the Visitor Center at SteelStacks, Ruins Parking Lot 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 6/7, 6/8, 6/21, 6/22, OR 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on 6/7, 6/8. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs of sand unassisted to fill bags and place candles. Kit making will be held outdoors under a tent, rain or shine. Social distancing and face masks will be required. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield needs volunteers per day to assist with feeding and watering the animals, and small groups to help with grounds maintenance, composting, cleaning stalls. Minimum age 14, or 10 with parent supervision. Volunteers are required to wear masks and to social distance. THE WHOLE LIFE CENTER, Easton needs volunteers 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month to assist with assembling boxes of food and then take out to clients’ cars. Also, one or two volunteers are needed 9 to11 a.m. the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month to assemble boxes of Fresh Food for Seniors.
