Always the first Saturday in December, the Emmaus Main Street Partners and the Borough of Emmaus are putting finishing touches on the annual Old Fashioned Christmas celebration for Saturday December 4, 2021.

The Cheers Drinking Trail will run from 12-5pm. This annual adult-only event takes passport holders from business to business throughout the Borough to taste sample-size alcoholic beverages or mocktails from various shops. The purpose of this event is for our community to learn about the local businesses and shop small and local for the holiday season. Guests are encouraged to shop when they stop in to get their sample. Tickets can be purchased on Event Brite here https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2021-emmaus-cheers-drinking-trail-tickets-216389204937. Passport pickup will be Saturday December 4 from 10am-12pm at 191 Main St Emmaus PA 18049. We encourage guests to purchase tickets ahead of time as they might sell-out before the day of the event and therefor no day-of tickets can be guaranteed as available.

Cheers Trail participating businesses include: Fuel Nutritional Smoothie, Kleckner & Sons Appliances, Yergey Brewing, Triple Sun Spirits, FD Market, Your CBD Store, Let’s Play Books Bookstore, Pedro’s Café, Lifestyle Barbershop, Cottage and Bloom, Amber Connection, The Deca, and Volpes. Bonus Bites stops include David’s Italian Market and Amber Connection.

From 4-7pm there will be kids activities on the Triangle including letters to Santa with Emmaus Rotary Club, coloring books, crafts, and more. There will be plenty of giveaways including newspapers from East Penn Press, candy and coloring pages from Emmaus Kiwanis Club, and more. Hausmans Fruit Farms will be on site selling apple dumplings and hot cider as well as offering Hay Rides out front of Licensed 2 Grill and Khineder Creations with a Polar Express Conductor! Tickets for the hayride cost $5 for an adult, $3 for kids, and free for kids under 3 years old.

Adult beverages will be available on the sidewalk along the Triangle thanks to Yergey Brewing, Triple Sun Spirits, and Funk Brewing. Vendor attendees include: East Penn Manufacturing, Emmaus Rotary Club, Hausman Fruit Farm, Representative Milou Mackenzie, Cub Scout Pack 25, Emmaus Kiwanis Club, Circle of Seasons, Moravian Church, East Penn Press, Seven Generations Charter School, and Michael Baker/Emmaus Borough.

Santa arrives on the Triangle via a firetruck at 5pm! Pictures with Santa will be available from 5-7pm, photos courtesy of Wesley Works Photography. Curb Appeal Detail will be on site with the Grinch, Cindy Lou-Who, and Max! EMSP has invited our friends Elsa & Anna to join us that evening as well.

Executive Vice President of Affiliated Chambers Jessica O’Donnell shares her excitement, “We are thrilled to be getting back to more robust celebration. Our local business community is itching to be part of the celebration whether a stop on the Cheers Trail or sponsoring a fun aspect of the event like hot chocolate or the reindeer, our amazing community is coming together despite all obstacles!”

Similar to the Emmaus Farmers Market, part of South 4th Street, before Railroad and Main Street, where guests park for the businesses or park, will be closed from 2-8pm on Saturday December 4, 2021. Restroom for vendors, performers, attendees, and guests are available in the parking lot behind Licensed 2 Grill.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

4-430pm: St Ann’s Children’s Choir

430-5pm: Emmaus Moravian Sanctuary Choir

Due to safety concerns we will not be hosting the Candy Cane Lane trail this year. The Candy Cane Lane Trail is what we coordinate for kids to go around to the various historic sites in town to make craft ornaments to then be hung on a Children’s Tree on the Triangle. The decorated tree then sits in the window at David’s Electric on Main Street. We hope to revive the Candy Cane Lane again in 2022!

Thank you to the Emmaus Main Street Partners board, the Emmaus Borough Council and Emmaus Public Works for their support for this event. A special thank you to our committee as well: Co-Chairs Rick Zayaitz and Dale Culton and committee members Michael Irwin, Marlea McAdoo, and Sean McIntyre.
