Review & Photographs by Diane Fleischman

The 2021 Holiday season is underway, as excitement fills the air, the Wind Creek Event Center welcomed ‘A Magical Cirque Christmas’ Wednesday night.

Plenty of families attended with children full of “ooohs” and “aaahs” as they watched acrobats and jugglers masterfully showcase their talents with precise execution to the music. And it was pretty hard not to feel that Christmas spirit as everyone clapped along to many of today’s contemporary Christmas tunes.  The show was full of comedy, incredible feats, and also told a story.
The show opens with the Guardian of Time, responsible for changing the seasons with his giant magical clock, but the world’s burdens has got him down in the dumps, unmotivated to face the countdown to the 2021 holiday season. In a cloud of smoke, an upbeat, magical Christmas fairy appears, determined to uplift the Guardian’s holiday spirits.  As she tries to help, she accidently breaks the key off from the clock, and a time travel through Christmases begins.

While this traveling Cirque troup is not affiliated with the Cirque du Soleil group, they share the goal of casting the best performers in the world. And this production did not disappoint one bit. The show was simply mesmerizing.
