Valley Youth House Receives $200,000 Donation to Create Endowment in Memory of Zachary Barker Chittick

The Zachary Barker Chittick Endowment Fund will provide unrestricted funding for critical programs and services to youth and families.

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA (12/21/21) – Valley Youth House has been generously gifted $200,000 from Barbra Barker and John Chittick in memory and honor of their late son, Zachary Barker Chittick. The Zachary Barker Chittick Endowment Fund will provide continuous, annual funding of programs and services for youth and families served by Valley Youth House.

Zachary Barker Chittick grew up in the Lehigh Valley where he attended United Friends School in Quakertown, then went on to enjoy success as a scholar athlete at Southern Lehigh High School, class of 2006. After an outstanding undergraduate experience at Syracuse University, Zack graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double major in Political Science and International Relations in 2010. He was accepted to the University of Texas Law School where he graduated with honors in 2013. During law school, Zack was a member of the Texas International Law Journal and a competitor on the University of Texas Allen C. Vis International Arbitration Team. Zack was an Associate at the Dallas, Texas office of McGuireWoods LLP with a focus on Banking and Finance. He was a member of First Presbyterian of Bethlehem and of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church of Houston. He enjoyed adopting rescue dogs, writing, skiing, biking, and rugby.

The funding received from the Zachary Barker Chittick Endowment Fund will provide emergency supplies, shelter and housing, counseling, prevention and intervention services, assistance with education, employment, life skills development, and case planning in any Valley Youth House program or service line.

As a specifically designated pool of assets held and invested by the agency, The Zachary Barker Chittick Endowment Fund will provide long-term growth interest and annual funding in perpetuity. Valley Youth House remains grateful to Barbra Barker and John Chittick for their generous support of youth and families in our community and for ensuring the agency will continue to serve young people for many years to come.
