The following announcements were included in Lamont McClure’s Executive Report to County Council at their March 3rd meeting.

  • The books from last year closed with a fund balance of $61 million. With the reduced revenue from the 8.5% cut in 2022 Real Estate taxes, the County has $54 million on hand—the same balance the last time the books closed.
  • Lamont McClure delivered a “Certificate of Appreciation” to Betsy Daly, RN. Nurse Daly recently vaccinated the 1,000thpatient at the COVID-19 drive-through testing center at Coordinated Health in Bethlehem Township. The site is a partnership between LVHN and Northampton County and began offering vaccines in June 2020.
  • In response to the unprovoked war of aggression in Ukraine, Mr. McClure has ordered the County to liquidate any holdings linked to Russia in the County’s Pension Fund and Other Post Employment Benefits (OPEB) as soon as the Russian markets are unfrozen. Approximately 0.7% of holdings in the Pension Fund are linked to Russia.
  • Currently there are no cases of COVID-19 at Northampton County Prison and no cases among residents at Gracedale Nursing Home; one Gracedale employee is currently in quarantine.
