The City of Allentown will host the 4th annual ‘Classics & Cruisers on Hamilton’ on August 14. The rain date for this event is August 21.

Classics & Cruisers recreates the nostalgia of the 70’s and early 80’s cruising Hamilton Street in Allentown, known as the destination and gathering place for car enthusiasts during this era.

The event begins at 8am for registration and staging at America on Wheels (AOW), including an open house for registrants at AOW and RB Collection until 11am. A police escort from AOW to the car show area on Hamilton Street is scheduled from 10 to 11am.

The show, which is open to all vehicles including antique, classic, muscle, and modern muscle, as well as street rods, sports, and exotic cars, will line the downtown streets for car enthusiasts to enjoy and reminisce about the days of cruising Hamilton.

Attendees will be able to admire the engines and paint work of hundreds of cars during the show window of 11am to 4:30pm. There will also be music and entertainment, food and dessert trucks in the 7th and Hamilton street area.

An awards ceremony will follow the car show. Over 100 prizes and trophies will be given out, including 40 awards professionally judged by the Allentown Corvette Club, 15 specialty awards, and a Top 60 awards.

The event will end with a police-escorted cruise from Downtown Allentown to the Ritz.

For the duration of the event, 7th Street will be closed from Linden to Walnut and Hamilton Street will be closed from 5th to 9th. Front Street will also be closed to traffic from 8 to 11am.

Classics & Cruisers is held in partnership with AOW, RB Collection, and the Allentown Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds will benefit the Allentown Police Honor Guard.
