Custom engraved ornaments will decorate Christmas City Trellis in Payrow Plaza
Bethlehem, PA (October 4, 2022) – Two-hundred limited edition collectible Bethlehem Christmas Trellis ornaments are now available for sale. Bethlehem’s Citizen’s Christmas City Committee issues a new ornament annually. Buyers can have them custom engraved with a name or a message. Proceeds will fund setting up the city’s Christmas tree and the tree lighting ceremony.
The committee hangs about 100 of the ornaments on the Christmas City Trellis in Payrow Plaza. The trellis is a popular outdoor exhibit featuring musical chimes with the ornaments dangling from them. When the display comes down, you take your ornament home as a keepsake. “It’s so special to have your personally engraved item be a part of this display,” said Tammy Wendling Senior Vice President of Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce. “I always thought it would be fun to see something like a proposal engraved on one. It would be so romantic to be walking through the winter wonderland and then seeing that special engraving,” said Wendling.
Light in the window
This year’s ornament highlights a beloved Bethlehem holiday tradition that dates back hundreds of years to the city’s Moravian roots – window candles. Wendling said, “In designing this ornament, the committee wanted to reflect that warm glow of Bethlehem’s holiday spirit.”

Ornaments are $15 each. You can buy yours at visithistoricbethlehem.com or by visiting the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce office at 74 West Broad Street, Suite 240.
Display Unveiling
The Citizen’s Christmas City Committee of the Bethlehem Chamber will unveil this year’s display during a tree lighting ceremony and concert on November 18 at 5pm. The trellis display will remain up at Payrow Plaza through early January. “This year it’s going to be extra special. Stay tuned for details about this year’s incredible new holiday elements,” hinted Wendling.
