Event Review: Henry and the Reggae Rockers

The Levitt Pavillion Steelstacks has had some of the most amazing concerts over the years. We have bands that come back every year, and a variety of newer acts that perform. It was a beautiful day yesterday in the Lehigh Valley. The Juneteenth Celebration commenced in the morning. It was a beautiful celebration commemorating the end of enslaved Americans. There will be a continued celebration in Easton, PA. They raised the flags in honor of Juneteenth in Allentown,  Bethlehem, Easton. On Monday,June 19th, The Juneteenth parade will be in Easton from noon-3:00pm.

The celebration continued throughout the evening with the annual Summer time concerts and people gathering on the lawn to listen to the amazingly talented Henry and The Raggae Rockers, and later in the evening, DJ Jamal Knight. Henry & The Raggae Rockers were amazing. It was a blend of their own music, and covers. The band was founded in 2004.

“HR2 is a soulful reggae band that combines roots, rock, R&B, and blues in their extended repertoire. HR2 stands up around their dynamic lead singer, Henry Sar and lead guitar player, Ibou Diallo, who combine various genres to deliver solid performances for all music lovers around the region.” From ArtsQuest site.

The lead singer interacted with everyone. He came out in the crowd. He had the kids come onstage to dance and sing. The entire place was packed. I ventured up to the Hoover-Mason Trestle. You can walk the Trestle and the history of the Bethlehem Steel along with benches, native plants and flowers, and a beautiful view of Bethlehem awaits you.

I took in the view as usual and the sea of people waiting for the concert to start were busy chatting, walking dogs, getting food, and forgetting the worries of the day.
