September 2 and 16 and November 4, 2023

9:30 AM and 1:00 PM

“Steeples and Steel” tours pay tribute to immigrants of the late 1800’s through early 1900’s who left their European homelands in search of a better life in America. Many settled in South Bethlehem, became steelworkers, and also helped build their ethnic churches.

The minibus leaves from the National Museum of Industrial History, 602 E. Second Street, Bethlehem. The first hour of the guided tour is through the neighborhoods of South Bethlehem with an emphasis on the churches. A church or cemetery is entered each tour. The second hour is a steelworker-guided tour of the Bethlehem Steel plant site, including the Hoover-Mason Trestle. The tour package includes lunch. Free parking is available across from the museum.

Tickets are $30 per person. Reservations are required. Contact Steelworkers’ Archives at 610.861.0600 or www.steelworkersarchives.com. Please check the Archives website for specific church and cemetery sites. Thank you.
