Are you considering joining or currently serving on a nonprofit board and want to become a more informed participant? Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley is offering LEAD Now; a 5-part leadership training program that provides relevant guidance on nonprofit board service. Assist with literacy activities in a kindergarten or first grade classroom in the Allentown School District one hour per week or more. Clearances and attendance at an orientation session are required. Our next orientation session is scheduled from 1-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov 9 at Hays Elementary School, Allentown. Camelot for Children is seeking event planning help so they can continue enriching the lives of children with special needs through free, year-round social and educational activities. St. Luke’s D&L “RaceFest” is bringing a full marathon back to the Lehigh Valley! We’re also hosting a marathon relay, half marathon run, and half marathon walk all on the same day. New Bethany has opportunities to help assemble kits for our 26th annual Luminaria Night! This is a great opportunity for groups and school students to volunteer together. The Center for Animal Health and Welfare, Easton, is looking for volunteers who can pick up donations on Thursday mornings (using our truck), and then drive back to CAHW to help unload the truck.
