Bethlehem, PA (11/27/2023) – The Fleming Foundation, a longstanding advocate and supporter of Valley Youth House, has reaffirmed its commitment to the organization by donating $500,000 to the agency’s endowment. This substantial investment continues the Foundation’s legacy of giving, which spans over 15 years.

Richard Fleming was a dedicated philanthropist with a profound commitment to the betterment of society. In 1969, he joined Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., working initially as Group President and Board Member and later as Executive Vice President until 1980. Fleming’s lasting impact also extended to Valley Youth House, where he actively participated as a board member. His exceptional leadership was evident as he served as Chairman of the Camp Fowler Capital Campaign and the Long Range Planning Committee.

Today, Fleming’s vision lives on through his daughter, Kathleen “Trinka” Arnold, who oversees the Fleming Foundation. This committed family has carried forward the tradition of philanthropy and has pledged the significant contribution of $500,000 to Valley Youth House’s endowment.

“The Fleming Foundation’s dedication to the well-being of the youth we serve is truly commendable,” said Tom Harrington, President and Executive Director of Valley Youth House. “Their commitment to our endowment fund is a vital step toward securing our organization’s future and empowering the next generation.”

At Valley Youth House, our vision is a world in which every young person belongs to a nurturing community. Valley Youth House is the only agency in the region dedicated exclusively to the needs of youth experiencing homelessness with a continuum of services–from preventative in-home and school-based therapy to street outreach, emergency shelter and supportive housing. An increased endowment will help Valley Youth House to continue to provide quality cutting-edge, research-based programs that provide youth with the dignity every young person deserves.
