EASTON, Pa. – With the season of celebration, gathering and gift-giving upon us, the Easton Farmers’ Market (EFM) has scheduled several special activities to add holiday spirit to its usual Saturday festivities.
EFM will offer free photos with Santa and his adorable merry goats — Millie and Mimi from EFM vendor The Bubbly Goat — on December 2 and 9 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Scott Park’s picturesque river backdrop provides a Santa photo like no other. (Dogs are welcome to be photographed but the goats cannot be part of the photo.) The images are perfect for holiday cards, social media posts and holiday messages to friends and family.
The Galena Brass (aka “The Little Brass Band of the Lehigh Valley”) will be strolling the market December 2 from 10 a.m. – noon and December 9 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. to have their festive sounds reverberate through the venue.
And for people planning holiday meals and gatherings, the Market offers everything for a fresh and festive holiday season, including a bounty of locally grown produce and fresh herbs, pasture-raised meats and eggs, cheese, wine, artisan baked goods, honey, freshly roasted coffee and a plethora of prepared foods.
An array of crafters, makers and guest vendors will offer a remarkable selection of local items ideal for holiday gift shopping.
The final day of the 2023 Easton Farmers’ Market will be December 16. After a holiday hiatus, the EFM Winter Market will kick-off on Saturday, January 6, at 325 Northampton Street (outside the Easton Public Market). The winter market operates every Saturday from 10 a.m. – noon through April.
Holding the title of America’s oldest, continuous open-air market, the Easton Farmers’ Market has been a destination for fresh and locally grown and prepared foods since pre-Revolutionary times. A program of the nonprofit Greater Easton Development Partnership, the Easton Farmers’ Market, presented by Capital Blue, is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday (May-December) at Scott Park along Larry Holmes Drive.
The EFM features 45+ vendors in the spacious, outdoor setting bordered by the Delaware and Lehigh rivers. The market moved to Scott Park from its longtime home in Centre Square in 2020 to accommodate COVID-19 health protocols.
