EASTON, Pa.—Greater Lehigh Valley Writers’ Group (GLVWG) will hold its monthly meeting from 10 a.m. – noon on Saturday, April 26, 2025. The meeting is offered in a hybrid format—in-person at the Palmer Branch of the Easton Library, 1 Weller Place, Palmer, PA, and online via Zoom.

From 11 a.m.-12 noon, writer and former GLVWG president Dr. Jill Peters will give a presentation on Team Writing. Peters was part of the 8-person writing team that produced Hear Us Out: Six Questions on Belonging and Belief.  She will talk about the writing process up until when the team received the contract from Fortress Press – which was before the actual writing began. The whole process was highly unusual and broke most of the rules we have been taught about getting published.

A workshop on Team Writing: We Got the Contract, Now We Have to Get Something to the Publisher!  Will be held from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Presenters Jill Peters, Dr. Sue Pizor Yoder, Rev. Dr. Bonnie Bates, and Rev. Dr. Steve Simmons will talk about receiving a contract and writing feverishly to deliver a manuscript to the publisher. The team will go on to explain how they organized, divided assignments, settled differences, handled the suggestions from the editor regarding team writing chapter topics, interview questions, chapter titles, writers, and editors. The editing process with eight people in the room was difficult but they worked through differences. The team will explain how we handled speaking, income, and our Launch Party after publication, along with other ways they promoted the book. Registration is required for the afternoon workshop. Cost is free for members; $15 for non-members payable via AcuPay.
