“Each season is a chance to begin again, and spring reminds us that growth is always possible, even after the storm,” said Isa Sanchez, Founder and Executive Director of SISU Empowering Others. “At SISU, we help Lehigh Valley residents bloom by providing client focused mentorship, connection to services, healthy habits programming, and HV information so our most vulnerable can thrive. As spring brings renewal, depression decreases by nearly 30%, and more people feel empowered to address long-postponed goals and seek support. SISU is that support.”

SISU continues to plant seeds of empowerment across the Lehigh Valley through these community-focused initiatives:

  • Healthy Living Initiative: A free program at the Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem for middle and high school students. It promotes wellness through weekly workshops focused on healthy habits, fitness, nutrition, and mental health support. This program is each Monday, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. located at 1430 Fritzs Drive, Bethlehem, Pa 18017.
  • Stability & Wellness Mentorship Initiative: A 4-week program hosted at The Lehigh Conference of Churches designed to strengthen emotional resilience and mental health awareness. Participants learn tools for managing stress, building mental toughness, and setting personal goals. This program runs from May 12, 2025, to June 2, 2025, 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 457 W. Allen Street, Allentown PA 18102.
  • Advocate Mentor Alliance Boot Camp: A powerful program for individuals living with HIV or those who want to become mentors. This series builds leadership and mentorship skills and fosters supportive peer relationships. Sessions are held on Monday May 5, 2025 and May 13, 2025, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. at the Hispanic Center of the Lehigh Valley and continue virtually through June.
  • Street Outreach Assessment: This program focuses on meeting individuals in the community where they are. We provide hygiene kits, food, and immediate support while also conducting needs assessments to connect individuals to housing, health services, and mentorship opportunities.
  • Life Skills Classes at the Salvation Army: These monthly classes empower women residing at the shelter by equipping them with skills in job readiness, financial literacy, self-care, and personal development. Our goal is to mentor and advocate for each participant to help them move toward self-sufficiency and healing.
