BETHLEHEM, PA (May 20, 2025) — Sophomore students of the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts’ (Charter Arts) Communications and Media studies class — part of the school’s Literary Arts curriculum — hosted a press conference to announce the line-up of the artists they selected to perform during a Musikfest concert block which will be taking place on August 3, 2025. The students have been participating in ArtsQuest’s Marketing Musikfest program since early February as a class project, with this press conference being among the assignments created by their teacher to learn how to navigate public relations.
With instruction from ArtsQuest’s Chief Programming Officer, Patrick Brogan and members of the ArtsQuest team, the students have learned the essential writing, media, communication, and marketing skills needed to conduct a nationally recognized music festival. They then put these skills into practice to produce their Musikfest concert block. The students have been responsible for reviewing band/artist applications, booking artists, marketing, public relations, managing a budget, procuring sponsorship, creating design aspects for promotions, and producing show elements for their August 3, 2025 concert block, which will take place from 12-4 at Musikfest’s Plaza Tropical stage.
The students spoke about the lessons they have learned through the process and announced the four bands/artists they have selected. The four student-selected bands/artists that will perform on August 3rd are as follows:
12:00 PM – Screenager, an alternative/indie artist from New Jersey(instagram.com/screenagerband
1:00 PM – 49 Burning Condors, a gothic rock band from Philadelphia (49burningcondors.com)
2:00 PM – Sunrise Cries, a classic rock/grunge band from New Jersey (sunrisecriesmusic.com)
3:00 PM – Joy and the Wildfire (Acoustic Duo), an indie rock duo from New York (joyandthewildfire.com)
The students will continue to promote the bands throughout the summer leading up to the event. Learn more about Musikfest at Musikfest.org. Learn more about Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts at CharterArts.org.
