Drive & Thrive: Free Hands-On Car Care Event Aims to Empower Young Drivers in Forks Township, Easton

Forks Township, Easton, PA — Young drivers in Forks Township and the greater Easton area will have a unique opportunity to gain essential car care skills—hands-on and free of charge—at the upcoming Drive & Thrive event, hosted by Wrenchtec Auto Repair and the Forks Business Association, proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 12, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Wrenchtec, located at 3315 Sullivan Trail, Forks Township, Easton.

Becky Romano of Wrenchtec shared the inspiration behind the event: “This community event is important to us because we are a part of the community and want to make it better in any way possible. We want to grow as a business alongside other businesses in the area. We’re all a part of it together.” She continued, “We are also hoping that these young kids and adults can learn some of these life skills that are not always taught anymore.”

Created with new and soon-to-be drivers in mind, Drive & Thrive will guide participants through a series of live, interactive demonstrations led by experienced automotive professionals. Young drivers and their families will rotate through the following hands-on stations:

  • How to check your oil level
  • How to test a battery and safely jumpstart a car
  • How to safely change a tire
  • A group discussion on what to consider when buying a used car

“This is not just about car maintenance—it’s about confidence,” said Eric Lubar, member of the Forks Business Association and proud Forks resident. “Our goal with this event is to help young drivers build confidence and feel capable in situations that every vehicle owner will eventually face.”

The event is free and open to the public, and no registration is required. Families are encouraged to attend together. There will be a variety of freebies and giveaways, including water bottles, food, italian ices, and more!

Drive & Thrive fills a growing gap between traditional driver’s education and the real-world responsibilities that come with owning and maintaining a vehicle. In today’s world of rising costs and safety concerns, having basic automotive knowledge is more important than ever.

The 2025 Drive & Thrive event is part of a larger effort by the Forks Business Association to provide meaningful, educational, and community-centered programming for local residents.
