The 2016 Mercy School For Special Learning Golf Classic welcomed 140 golfers across the morning and afternoon rounds on Monday, Aug. 15, at Brookside Country Club in Macungie. The event was rescheduled from its previous Aug. 1 date due to severe-weather forecasts.

The Mercy Golf Classic is a yearly event that raises money and awareness for Mercy, the Lehigh Valley’s only private, nonresidential school for children and young adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. This year’s event netted the school more than $48,000.

This year was the 27th year for the Classic, which featured a scramble format and prize opportunities including a chance on the 5th hole to win a 2-year lease on a 2016 Buick Encore courtesy of Star Dealerships. (The Mercy Golf Classic is also part of the Landis Cup that is run by the Landis family who owns the Star Car Dealerships.)

We would like to thank all our sponsors for their contributions and support of the Golf Classic, including Principal Sponsors CityCenter Lehigh Valley, CrossAmerica Partners, Dunne Manning IAI Construction and TransEdge Truck Centers. Prizewinners included the following:
