PBS39 Announces “Home for the Holidays” Programming Lineup 



 

The station presents a great themed lineup of television programming for the entire family.

 

Bethlehem, Pa. — November 23, 2017 — PBS39 is excited to announce the line up for it’s holiday season, including a number of ticketed events and live, in-studio presentations. The station will air programs like Trans-Siberian Orchestra: Ghost of Christmas Eve, TeleBear’s Holiday Party, Ethan Bortnick, Young Hyacinth and many more.

“Every year, we look forward to celebrating the holidays with you and your families,” said Tim Fallon, CEO PBS39. “With new holiday-themed episodes and classic specials, families can gather together and join their favorite PBS KIDS friends this winter.”

PBS39 announces the following programs for the upcoming week:

Trans-Siberian Orchestra: Ghost of Christmas Eve

The Ghost of Christmas Eve is a unique fantasy trip through the magic of Christmas. Narrated by award-winning actor Ossie Davis, the production takes us on a journey of a runaway little girl’s decision to return to her family after she enters a rundown theater for shelter and encounters an old caretaker who guides her on her journey.

 

TeleBear’s Holiday Party

PBS39’s Laura McHugh hosts ‘TeleBear’s Holiday Party’ featuring highlights from PBS Kids’ holiday specials including The Cat in the Hat, Wild Kratts, Peg + Cat and Curious George.   She is joined by TeleBear to introduce the ‘TeleBear Cub Club’, a new and exciting PBS39 program for children up to 10 years old.

 

8 Days a Week: The Touring Years

Filmmaker Ron Howard examines the early years of the Beatles, from their club dates in Liverpool, England, to their concert tours in Europe and the rest of the world.

 

Ethan Bortnick

Recognized by the Guinness World Records as “The World’s Youngest Solo Musician to Head-line His Own Concert Tour,” 16-year-old Ethan Bortnick has been performing around the world, raising over $40,000,000 for charities across the globe.

 

Young Hyacinth

Young Hyacinth is a British sitcom, a prequel to the series Keeping Up Appearances, written by original writer Roy Clarke. Set in the late 1950’s, a young Hyacinth will be seen desperately trying to force her family to climb the social ladder.

 

Mannheim Steamroller 30/40

This 2014 anthology by composer Chip Davis’ world-famous new age ensemble, Mannheim Steamroller, pays homage their wildly successful Christmas collection and Davis’ debut album, Fresh Aire. The 30/40 collection takes a look back, offering 15 remastered tracks from both the Christmas and Fresh Aire series of albums as well as a new rendition of “Greensleeves” sung by Davis’ daughter Elyse.
