First Friday at High School for the Arts to include Free Art Reception, Poetry Reading and Art & Craft Fair

BETHLEHEM, PA—- The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) will host a free Opening Reception for its Winter Student Art Exhibit on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 6-9pm in the school’s Corpora Gallery, located at 321 East 3rd Street, Bethlehem.  In addition, as part of South Bethlehem’s First Friday celebration, the school will also host a Poetry Reading at 7pm, and an Art & Craft Fair, featuring student artwork, crafts and caricatures.  The fair is a great place to find that unique holiday gift.

The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts’ Corpora Art Gallery hosts professional and student exhibits throughout the school year and participates in South Bethlehem’s First Friday celebrations with receptions for these exhibits.


Charter Arts is an audition-based, tuition-free, public charter school that provides a comprehensive curriculum for high school students, grades 9-12, who have a passion for the arts.  Students major in one of seven artistic areas:  dance, theatre, vocal music, instrumental music, literary arts, figure skating or visual art.

The school offers a full complement of core courses at the College Preparatory (CP), Honors, and Advanced Placement (AP) levels. The course catalog consists of more than 200 courses ranging from traditional core courses to college-level courses in the arts.

(2)  On the Keystone Exams, the Class of 2018 earned the highest combined proficiency scores of all public and charter schools in the Lehigh Valley.  (3) The Class of 2017, made up of 116 graduates, earned $4.2 million in scholarship aid for post-secondary education.  (4) According to Niche’s list of 2018 Best High Schools for the Arts in the Nation, Charter Arts ranks #22 of 165 arts schools.
