SCHNECKSVILLE, PA (January 23, 2018) – KidsPeace announced that it received a $12,500 donation from BB&T Corporation.  The donation was presented by BB&T Corporate Banking Group Manager Lewis Cyr to KidsPeace Vice President of Development Ann McCauley at a ceremony at KidsPeace’s Schnecksville, PA corporate offices.

“Part of BB&T’s mission is to make the communities in which we work better places to live,” Cyr said. “We appreciate the time and energy KidsPeace puts into supporting young people dealing with behavioral and mental health needs.”

The donation includes $10,000 given to KidsPeace as part of BB&T’s participation in the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (ITC) program.  Under EITC, participating companies who are subject to certain state taxes can claim a credit of up to 90 percent of contributions made to an eligible nonprofit organization with an educational component to their services.  McCauley said the donation will support the education programs provided to hospital and residential treatment clients at KidsPeace’s Orchard Hills Campus in Orefield, PA.

“We truly appreciate BB&T’s support for our efforts,” she said.  “This donation is a perfect example of how an outstanding company can help support our communities.”

Cyr pointed out that the donation also included BB&T’s sponsorship of KidsPeace’s annual golf tournament, and a $2,000 donation specifically to congratulate KidsPeace for its “BeInspired” initiative, an internal recognition program for its dedicated associates.  “The entire KidsPeace team does so many positive things for children, families and our community, and we think it’s great that the organization makes it possible for colleagues to recognize each other for those contributions,” he said.
