The cast and crew of the Marvels Universe Live have unpacked their bags as they settle into the PPL Center. The story of ‘The Age of Heroes” opens Thursday night and runs through Sunday, December 2nd.
The Valley Ledger was invited backstage to catch a glimpse of the fun and excitement that lies ahead.
There was plenty of action fights underway, from masked characters to stick and hand fighting. Super Hero masks and props were displayed, each available for a try-on to live the fantasy of being that special hero, even just for a brief moment.
We joined up with David Kinne, unmasked from his character, Thor, who explained that the person who is able to remove the hammer from the rock must truly be worthy.
Also on display were about a half dozen masks and illustrations of the elaborate costumes of other characters in the show. The masks were cloth like, some had a rubber feel, but overall remained lightweight.
Tyler Hubbard was also on hand to demonstrate his process of applying his make-up. And while he stated he puts the make-up on often enough that if he’s in a hurry he can probably get it done within a couple of minutes. He prefers to take his time, he wants it to look exactly the same for each performance.
It was a busy day for the performers. Earlier in the day they appeared at Roberto Clemente Charter School and spoke to 50 sixth grade students about the importance of staying healthy and keeping their bodies in super hero shape, and also the career opportunuties in this type of work.
Come see the Super Heroes in action as they perform seven shows starting with Thursday at 7pm, Friday, November 30 at 7pm, Saturday, December 1, at 11am, 3pm, and 7pm, and Sunday, December 2 at 12pm and 4pm.
