PBS39 Awarded $50,000 EITC Grant from PPL Electric Utilities



 

This grant will help fund a variety of PBS39 educational programs and services.

Bethlehem, PA – December 7, 2018 – PBS39, the Greater Lehigh Valley’s public media station, will make an impact on thousands of students with help from a grant from PPL Electric Utilities.

“PBS39 is honored once again to receive this generous grant from the PPL Electric Utilities,” Tim Fallon, Chief Executive Officer of PBS39 said. “Educating our children is vital to the future of our community. Our team is working hard through our various initiatives, each focused on important skills needed for success.”

The $50,000 PPL grant will be used to fund many of PBS39’s educational programs and services, including Raising Readers, Crazy 8s Math, the Full STEAM Ahead! early childhood education initiative and other programs approved by the guidelines set forth in Pennsylvania’s Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program.

“At PPL, we feel that one of the most effective things we can do as a leader in the community is to help to ensure that our youth are properly educated and supported especially during the crucial early years of their life,” Lissette Santana, Senior Manager of Corporate Relations for PPL said. “We’re fortunate to be able to participate in the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Education Improvement Tax Credit program, which gives companies an opportunity to support quality agencies working to educate children.”
