Borough of Coplay to Kick Off 150 Anniversary with Gala Dinner



 

COPLAY, March 18 – This year, the Borough of Coplay in Lehigh County will celebrate its 150th Anniversary with several events to mark this momentous occasion.  The Anniversary will kick off with a Gala Dinner Event to be held on Saturday, April 6th at the American Club Pavilion in Coplay.  The event starts at 3:00 p.m. with the opening of a time capsule that is buried nearby at the Veterans Memorial on Chestnut Street.  Cocktail Hour will start at 4:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 5:00 p.m., speakers at 6:00 p.m. and then live music by “A Few Good Men” until 10:00 p.m.  The special guest of honor and main speaker will be Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman.

A 150th Anniversary Parade will be held on Saturday, May 18th starting at 1:00 p.m. at the corner of 9th and Chestnut Streets in the Borough which will include the Whitehall High School and Freedom High School Marching Bands.

Finally, the 150th Anniversary Community Festival will be held on Saturday, June 15th at Samuel Balliet Stadium which will feature bands, family activities, food and fireworks.  The fun will begin at 10:00 a.m.
