Step Outdoors Returns with Dock Dogs, Mud Run, Family Fishing Event & More June 1-2 SteelStacks, Bethlehem, PA

Step Outdoors Lehigh Valley is back for its 5th year at SteelStacks with 25 organizations providing nature-themed family fun! This year’s event will feature presentations and activities that introduce guests to wildlife, outdoor recreation and more.

Among the fun-filled activities to be enjoyed include:

  • Kids Firefighter Challenge – June 1, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. – a new event, where Kistler O’Brien Fire Protection and The Bethlehem Fire Department provide fire safety along with an obstacle course and more.
  • Family Fishing Program – June 1, 9 a.m.- noon – along the Lehigh Canal on Sand Island. The staff of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission teach participants basic fishing skills, including angling on the Lehigh Canal.
  • Your First Mud Run – June 2, beginning at 10 a.m. At the Levitt Pavilion Lawn and PNC Plaza is a two-mile course for both adults and children that includes a 6-foot high wall, a mud pit, a cargo net and a secret obstacle.
  • Nature-Themed Artisan Show – June 1-2 starting at 10 a.m. in the ArtsQuest Center Fowler Blast Furnace Room. This show features 20-plus nature and wildlife artists along with their fine, handmade crafts.

The popular Keystone DockDogs® competition is also back both days with a 40-foot long pool and lovable canines competing in events such as Big Air Dogs®, Extreme Vertical®, and Speed Retrieve®. It’ll be the most fun, wet and wild game of “fetch” ever!

Other activities include archery, fishing, biking, wildlife presentations and more!
