County Collaborative Recognition Award for Children, Youth & Family and the Court of Common Pleas

Lamont McClure is pleased to announce that the Department of Children, Youth & Family (CYF) and the Court of Common Pleas received a County Collaborative Recognition Award. The award recognizes a collaborative effort between a county court and a county CYF agency which expedites child placement through adoption, formal kinship care or permanent legal custodianship.

“Every child deserves to grow up in a safe and loving environment. Unfortunately, not every child is born into such a situation,” says Lamont McClure. “I want to commend our employees in Children, Youth & Family and the Court of Common Pleas who work hard to find good homes for the children in Northampton County who need one.”

Kevin Dolan and Hearing Officer Syzane Arifaj accepted the award at the 27th annual Pennsylvania Permanency Conference on June 12th. This conference is attended by child welfare professionals, current and prospective foster or adoptive families, kindship care providers and others working to ensure that children have safe, permanent and loving homes.
