Lehigh County is proud to announce that we have a new Director of Lehigh County’s Emergency Services Department.  John Kalynych will replace Scott Lindenmuth after his six years of service as the previous director.  John was the former Team Coordinator for Lehigh County’s Special Operations Team.

A messsage from Richard D. Molchany,  General Services Director:

I am pleased to announce the promotion of John Kalynych to Director of Lehigh County’s Emergency Services Department. John has been serving as the Special Operations Team Coordinator; in this position, John consistently demonstrated his ability, knowledge, talent and teamwork to solve problems, while promoting public safety.

Lehigh County resident safety is our top priority and the Emergency Services Director plays a vital role in ensuring that safety. Crucial leadership support to police, fire, emergency response, and hazardous material controls, are critical to public safety; therefore, I’m pleased to have someone with John’s experience and professionalism ready to assume this position. John has the respect of the Emergency Management Agency, and 9-1-1 Communication Center staff; as well as the entire Lehigh County’s First Responder community.

Lehigh County maintains an excellent emergency services record and I’m confident that John will continue to lead that tradition. Our citizens deserve assurance that there is someone in leadership that can make accurate decisions quickly. John will serve the County of Lehigh and work hard every day to make this a safe place to live, work and play.

John replaces the recently retired, Scott Lindenmuth, who successfully served as director of the department for the past six years.

Help me welcome John to our leadership team.
