It may have been a case of opening day jitters for the Hawks as they received the opening kick-off and fumbled the ball.  The Dayton Wolf Packs recovered the ball and proceeded to score their first touchdown.

The Wolf Packs displayed the next round of butterfingers, followed by an interception by the Hawks,  then the Hawks ran the field and scored all within the first four and a half minutes of the game.

The fumbles, interceptions, and touchdowns continued throughout the first half of the game with a half time score of 35 to 18,  the Hawks had spread their wings wide to obtain a solid lead.

The anxious fans were on the edge of their seats during the third quarter as the Hawks amazed as they brought their score to 59 to 25.

The Steelhawks are led by a crew of veteran offensive players this year. The team returns all of their starting wide receivers from last season, including Darius Prince,  and Brandon Renford . Quarterbacks Warren Smith Jr. and Ray Wagner are both veteran leaders,  and the powerful fullbacks; Rustin Mayorga and Wyreaz Bradley.

As the Steelhawks begin the season, a special treat was in store for the fans Sunday, free Steel Hawks hats were distributed.   As if the season opener is any indication of what kind of season this will be, it looks like it will be one exciting ride that will keep us on the edge of our seats.

The Steelhawks are away for their next two games, and will return to the PPL Center on Sunday, April 9th. http://lvsteelhawks.com/
