Zanelli Hosts “Progress in Politics” in Allentown Sept. 10th

Aug. 26, Bethlehem, Pa. – Amy Zanelli is the candidate labor unions in the Lehigh Valley are spotlighting as a strong voice for workplace equality and equal pay, and an advocate for working families. Zanelli, the Democratic candidate for Lehigh County Commissioner District 3, garnered another labor endorsement this time from the Lehigh Valley Labor Council, AFL-CIO.

“After meeting with the COPE committee and a vote from the Delegates at the Lehigh Valley Labor Council it was clear that Amy is the best choice for working families in Lehigh County and we are proud to endorse her,” said James Irwin, the Vice President and COPE Chair of the Lehigh Valley Labor Council.

The Lehigh Valley Labor Council is “the Voice of Organized Labor in the Greater Lehigh Valley,” according to the council website, and includes over 12 labor unions totaling 55,000 members in the Lehigh Valley.

“As a former shop steward, I am deeply honored by this public showing of faith and trust of my union brothers and sisters. I will always stand up for the hardworking men and women of Lehigh Valley and the values we share,” Zanelli said.

Zanelli’s support for equality in the workplace will be one of the topics of discussion September 10th at “Progress in Politics,” a brunch and a panel discussion on women, politics and leadership hosted by Zanelli.

The panel includes Pennsylvania Representative Maureen Madden, Bethlehem Councilwoman Olga Negron, LGBT Activist Alisa Bowman, Feminist Artist Cynthia Rodriguez and Dr. Trisha Moller, a professor at Moravian College.
