Allentown

YARD WASTE SITE NOW OPEN FOR THE REGULAR SEASON

Curbside Yard Waste Collection Begins

Electronics Recycling Being Offered

The City of Allentown yard waste site at 1401 Oxford Dr. (Oxford Drive and Fish Hatchery Road) is now open for the season for Allentown residents.  It will be open on Saturdays from 8am to 3pm, Mondays, 12pm to 4pm, Wednesdays, 8am to 6:30pm and Fridays, 12pm to 4pm.  Residents are required to show identification.

The city will offer mulch loading services every Wednesday during the season from 8am to 12pm.  Loading services will be available for a pre-paid fee of $12 per bucket load.  There is no cost for self-loading of material.  Payment must be made at the Recycling & Solid Waste Office, 1400 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. prior to loading.

Curbside yard waste collection begins this week.  Residents should place yard waste out on their recycling night.  Paper lawn and leaf bags are no longer required for grass clippings.  The paper lawn bags have caused contamination issues.  Residents are encouraged to place all yard waste in a container (separate can from your trash).  Please do not mix any trash or any other debris in with the yard waste.  Yellow yard waste stickers are available for your cans.

The city is also accepting electronics for recycling on the first and third Saturday of each month from April through November from 9am to 12pm.   The next electronics event is Saturday, April 18.  It is also for city of Allentown residents only.

The city will accept computers, keyboards, monitors, electronics, printers, scanners, laptops and televisions for recycling.  Users bringing electronics will have the convenience of drive-through service.  There is a limit of two televisions or one big screen projector television per vehicle per day.
