Non Profit Lauds DeSales University Graduate with the Judie’s Heart Award

BETHLEHEM, PA – The Judith Adele Agentis Charitable Foundation (JAACF), a Bethlehem-based non-profit, awarded Julie Downs, a DeSales University 2017 communications graduate, with the Judie’s Heart Award, recognizing Ms. Downs for her excellence and commitment in marketing, messaging and visuals for JAACF.

“Julie was instrumental in the success of the marketing and planning of the sixth annual JAACF Benefit Dinner held at Blue Event Center, says Tina Cantelmi Agentis, Public Relations and Event Planner for JAACF.

The dinner event, Reaching High Notes, was held March 23rd at Blue Event Center and raised more than $12,000. The funds will be earmarked  to help JAACF to continue the delivery of nutritious comfort meals to families and guests at St. Luke’s Hospice House, according to Robert Agentis, founder of JAACF.

“More than 16,000 meals have been delivered to hospice house guests, staff and families since 2013,” adds Agentis.

St. Luke’s Health Network, and Better Homes and Gardens/Cassidon Realty served as co-presenting sponsors.

Steve Balshi of Bethlehem was awarded “JAACF Volunteer of the Year.”

In all, 110 guests attended the dinner dance that included a cocktail hour with music by Ginger and the Schnappes, followed a poignant message from Dr. Ric Baxter, medical director at St. Luke’s Hospice House.

Additionally, a special video message was presented to JAACF by Dan Roebuck, actor, director, and creator of the film, “Getting Grace.”

After dinner, the sounds of Philly Funk Authority keep the party going. Fine art from Rigo Peralta, Tina Cantelmi, Ward Van Haute, Judy Simone, Bruce Ward, Kim Hogan, and Virginia Abbott put an artful spin on the fundraiser for the evening.
