Help Wanted: ArtsQuest Looking to Fill 300 Summer Jobs at Musikfest and SteelStacks

BETHLEHEM, PA—Whether a person wants an active role behind the scenes at Musikfest – one of the nation’s largest music festivals – or is interested in leading the charge on the front line by greeting attendees during the event, ArtsQuest has hundreds of exciting part-time and seasonal positions waiting for him or her this summer.

In anticipation of a busy summer season, the nonprofit arts organization will be hiring between 250 and 300 part-time seasonal and festival positions over the next few weeks, with many of the positions geared toward preparing for Musikfest, the nation’s largest free music festival.  Although some of the Musikfest-focused positions may only be a few weeks in length, many employment opportunities span the entire summer, from May through the end of August.

Areas where ArtsQuest needs the most assistance include operations and event services, key positions that help to make Musikfest possible for nearly one million people to enjoy. Each year, operations and event staff help set up the festival in the weeks leading up to Musikfest, prepping stages, setting up tables and chairs and assisting Musikfest’s more than 100 vendors prepare for the event. During Musikfest, event services staff work at every site on the festival grounds, greeting attendees and providing detailed festival information, directions and more.

“At ArtsQuest, we want our staff to have fun enjoying our events while ensuring that we exceed our patrons’ expectations, whether it’s at Musikfest, Levitt Pavilion or any of our other programs for the community,” says ArtsQuest Vice President of Human Resources Cindy Karchner. “Our positions present excellent opportunities for high school graduates and college students, as well as school teachers who are home for the summer.

“Year after year, we have a number of individuals who come back and work with us because of the exciting, fast-paced, festive environment of Musikfest and the opportunity to interact with our patrons. Our organization takes great pride in delivering exceptional customer service experiences, and these positions offer real-life experience and training for individuals who are looking at careers in customer service, arts and events management.”

Other ArtsQuest summer positions available include summer camp assistants at the Banana Factory Arts Center, parking lot supervisors, retail merchandise assistants, transportation ticket sellers, beverage servers & keg assistants. Candidates for all positions must be friendly, possess strong customer service skills and have an interest in being outdoors during the summer.

The complete list of seasonal and festival employment opportunities is available at www.artsquest.org/employment.  Interested candidates must be a high school graduate or at least 18 years or older and should follow the instructions for applying listed on the ArtsQuest website.
