Bethlehem, PA, “The Christmas City,” hosts one of the best holiday markets in the US (per Travel + Leisure). Christkindlmarkt is open on weekends ‪through December 22nd. As you stroll through the aisles, you’ll see the talented work from over 150 artisans. I had the pleasure of speaking with Octavio Peña who makes beautiful stained glass Bethlehem and Moravian stars. Octavio has actually been one of the resident artists at Banana Factory since its inception. You can see him working on the stars right in his booth. I also met the ladies of the Nazareth Ceramic Center who make those beautiful and nostalgic ceramic light-up Christmas trees. They reminded me of the one we had growing up in our home.

There’s plenty to do besides shop, such as live Christmas music, and ice carving and glass blowing demonstrations. What’s even more fun is that you can sign up for the Hot Glass Experience Glass Ornament session to make your very own ornament. Breakfast with St. Nicholas is occurring ‪on December 7th and 14th (additional fee). There’s even a pet photo session with St. Nicholas ‪on December 6th from 5:30-7pm (additional fee). What’s new this year is the Outdoor Village with outdoor artisan huts, fire pits, and igloos. Lastly, there are plenty of food and drink vendors and even two bars.
