The East Penn Chamber of Commerce has a dedicated committee of volunteers who serve to provide graduating seniors with financial assistance for furthering education. The East Penn Chamber of Commerce’s Scholarship Committee is comprised of Chair Kate Hart Zayaitz from Fulton Bank, Tom Capehart from Gross McGinley, Scott Cope from Wildlands Conservancy, Francee Fuller from Barry Isett, and Michele McGrath from Air Products.
Through the year, the board hosts fundraisers so they can award a scholarship towards the end of the school year. The committee met and decided with all the amazing applicants and the great fundraising events, they were able to give out not just one, not just two, not just three, but FOUR scholarships again this year.
The check presentation typically takes place in person where the board comes to the main office to meet the students and surprise them with the news. Unfortunately we couldn’t meet in person this year but on Friday May 15, 2020 at 10am, our committee joined two of the four students on a Zoom call to share the good news.
The four students receiving the scholarships have been told at this point that they’re receiving the scholarships. The 2020 East Penn Chamber scholarship recipients are Zachary Conner, Emma Brashear, Stephanie Roccobertan, and Emma Lin Moyer.
