Valley Youth House Receives $3.3 million in Continuum of Care Awards

BETHLEHEM, PA (3/30/2023): Valley Youth House is proud to announce that it has been awarded over $3.3 million in Continuum of Care (CoC) awards from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), reflecting the organization’s commitment to providing housing and supportive services to young people and their families across 14 counties in Pennsylvania.

The following CoC awards have been granted to Valley Youth House:

  • Rap4Youth: $720,544
  • Luzerne County RRH: $408,239
  • Montgomery County TH-RRH Adult Families: $152,159
  • Montgomery County RRH Families: 122,528
  • TH-RRH Montgomery County Young Adults: 190,104
  • RRH Lackawanna: 85,113
  • LV RRH Families: $322,472
  • TH-RRH LV Youth: 535,694
  • Bucks TH-RRH: 346,158
  • York RRH Youth: $221,751
  • York TH-RRH Youth: $116,423
  • York RRH Expansion: $131,256

These awards support Valley Youth House’s Rapid Rehousing (RRH) programs that help unstably housed youth and families obtain a place to live. Working closely with their Life Skills Counselor, Housing Stability Coach, and/or Mental Health Therapist, youth receive assistance in locating safe housing, gaining employment, and developing the life skills to be self-supporting. In 2022, Valley Youth House’s Rapid Rehousing programs helped hundreds of clients’ housing situations improve drastically, and these awards will ensure the continued success of these programs.

Valley Youth House is grateful to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for their ongoing support and recognition of the importance of addressing homelessness in our communities. With these awards, Valley Youth House will be able to expand its services and reach even more youth and families in need.
