EASTON, Pa. (June 14, 2023) – Some absolutely incredible adults sparked the imaginations and encouraged discovery in some absolutely incredible kids at Crayola Experience this week.

Kids visiting the downtown Easton family destination for creative play had the opportunity to interact with renowned comic book artist Scott Hanna and Lehigh Valley Zoo wildlife conservation experts, and put their creative juices to work with craft activities from event partner Crayola Imagine Arts Academy (CIAA). 

Today’s “Be Incredible Workshop” featured Hanna—who has worked on top characters at Marvel Comics and DC comics including Spider-Man, Avengers, Iron Man, X-Men, Hulk, Wonder Woman, Justice League, and Superman. The artist spoke about careers in art design and taught the children (and their parents) how to create characters using simple shapes. The workshop was paired with CIAA’s “Design a Superhero Costume” creative activity.

Tuesday’s workshop showcased the wildlife conservation with a presentation by conservation experts from the Lehigh Valley Zoo and a “Paint a Safari Landscape” activity from CIAA. The Zoo’s animal collection includes more than 22 species collectively managed through the Species Survival Plan Program™. The Zoo contributes to, participates in, and initiates wildlife conservation programs at home and in the field.

The Crayola Imagine Arts Academy craft activities are designed to help children developing their creativity and critical thinking skills, through art. With locations across North America, it uses art programs as a medium to teach children about real-world topics like animal conservation and design thinking. The academy is a partnership between Crayola^® LLC and Mad Science^®.
