EASTON, Pa. — The National Canal Museum will host a series of seasonal events this fall at Hugh Moore Park, offering educational programming, family-friendly activities and festive celebrations for visitors of all ages.
Pirate Day — Sept. 20, during regular museum hours
Visitors are invited to dress in pirate costumes and enjoy 50 percent off museum admission and canal boat rides. DLNHC members receive free admission. The Bachmann Players will join the crew aboard the Josiah White II canal boat, performing as resident pirates. Guests can participate in themed crafts, follow a treasure map through the museum and interact with Hank and George in their pirate personas.
Pirate boat rides depart at noon and 3 p.m. A non-pirate ride is available at 1:30 p.m.
Passport to History Weekend — Sept. 28
As part of a regional initiative to promote historic and cultural sites, the museum will offer free admission and family-friendly activities. Visitors can explore 19th-century canal life through a fall-themed scavenger hunt, live demonstrations of canal-era technology and discounted canal boat rides aboard the Josiah White II for $5 per person.
Canal-o-ween — Oct. 25–26
The museum’s Halloween celebration returns with costumes, crafts and trick-or-treating throughout Hugh Moore Park. Guests in costume receive 50 percent off admission; DLNHC members enter free. Hank and George will appear in festive attire, and this weekend marks the final opportunity to ride the Josiah White II before the season ends.
