Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. (HRG) has promoted RJ Pale to senior quality lead in their transportation service group. In this role, Pale provides technical expertise and quality control reviews related to 3D modeling on roadways and bridges designed by the firm. He also mentors and trains staff in the continued development of these skills.
HRG leverages digital technology like 3D modeling to create smarter, more resilient infrastructure for their clients. Through 3D modeling, HRG’s team can integrate roads, terrain, drainage systems, bridges, and utilities into a single, spatially accurate digital environment. This unified model improves visualization, making it easier to detect design conflicts early and prevent costly changes during construction. It also supports more reliable, data-driven quantity calculations for earthwork and construction materials, giving clients a clearer picture for planning and budgeting. 3D visualizations for public meetings help the community and stakeholders clearly understand a project, see potential impacts, and offer meaningful feedback.
“3D modeling is especially valuable on projects where multiple disciplines overlap, clear coordination is critical, and public understanding is a priority,” Pale says.
Pale has 11 years of experience in transportation design and engineering. He has multiple industry accreditations in roadway and bridge modeling and a genuine commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Jeff Mikesic, HRG’s assistant vice president of transportation, says Pale “has consistently demonstrated outstanding technical proficiency, a desire to learn new technologies, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality and process efficiency.”
