ALLENTOWN RESCUE MISSION is looking for volunteers for their annual “Thanks for Giving” Food Drive. Adopt a location to Interact with patrons, collect food, and have fun –Giant, Linden St., Bethlehem from 9:45am-3:45pm on Saturday 11/18; Walmart in Whitehall on Friday 11/17 from 3:45-7:30pm; Walmart in Easton on Friday 11/17 from 3:45-7:30pm; or hold your own drive. CEDARBROOK NURSING HOME, Allentown needs volunteers for their Annual Craft Bazaar and Bake Sale from 9:45am-3:30pm on Friday, November 10th. Push wheelchair bound residents or escort walking residents as they enjoy shopping. Helpers are also needed to work at sales tables or in the bake shop. DELAWARE & LEHIGH HERITAGE HALF MARATHON RUN/WALK, Northampton & Lehigh County has need for volunteers to monitor start/finish lines, staff water stations, direct participants at intersections, cheer on participants throughout the course, and present awards on Sunday, November 5th. FAMILY VOLUNTEER DAY, Saturday, November 18th, is held annually the Saturday before Thanksgiving, It is an opportunity for families to work together to serve their community, have quality time for busy families, strengthen communication, and have a positive impact on local communities. The Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley has several local opportunities on their website www.volunteerlv.org. Listings are updated regularly with new opportunities.

HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS needs volunteers to donate wrapped shoeboxes filled with age appropriate items for Lehigh Valley’s children in need. This program coordinated by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley is a great project for large/small groups, clubs, classes, families, and individuals. To participate, go to www.volunteerlv.org and fill out a 2017 Donor Pledge Form. Filled shoeboxes may be dropped off at UGI Auditorium at 2121 City Line Ave., Bethlehem from 12noon-6pm on 11/28 through 11/30 or Friday 12/1 from 10am-3pm ONLY.

LEHIGH VALLEY HEALTH NETWORK seeks caring compassionate, and committed community volunteers to serve in following areas: All Locations-errand runners, gift shop, emergency dept., in-patient pharmacy; 17th & Chew-Office and Recreational Activity; Muhlenberg – Sterile Processing and Hospitality; Cedar Crest-Children’s Surgery Center, Surgical Waiting, and Hospitality. MEALS ON WHEELS OF LEHIGH COUNTY, Allentown is looking for volunteers (18+ years) to distribute meals to homebound individuals between 11am-1pm Monday-Friday. Teams of 2 deliver to 33 routes throughout Lehigh County. Drive a route or ride along as a visitor. Bring a friend and form a team or let us provide a partner for you. TABOR MENTORING PROGRAM, Bethlehem invites volunteers to become mentors and change lives. Tabor’s Mentoring Program matches individuals with children and youth who could benefit from getting a different perspective on life.
