Lehigh Valley Cleaning Company Gives Back to LGBT Youth

An Allentown-based cleaning company showed generous support for LGBT youth in the Lehigh Valley on the eve of Thanksgiving. Flawless Angels Cleaning, owned by Robert and Montana Jackson, cooked and delivered an entire Thanksgiving feast for Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center’s youth program, Project SILK Lehigh Valley.

“I want to help in any way I can because I know what it’s like to be in their shoes,” said Robert, who started volunteering at the Center earlier this year, alongside his husband, Montana.

Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center serves many youth without places to go for Thanksgiving. Their youth program, Project SILK Lehigh Valley is a daily after-school youth empowerment program for LGBT youth, including many who are housing insecure or experiencing homelessness. The program is run in collaboration with Valley Youth House and serves an average of 15 youth per day. Many of the youth that attend the program have described it as “home,” a place where they “feel as though both [their] life and words are valued.”

Allentown school district student Michelle attends the youth program on a daily basis. “What they did is amazing. It was really nice to have good food and good company,” Michelle said.

Flawless Angels Cleaning has offered to provide sandwiches to the program on a weekly basis, furthering their support for LGBT youth in the Lehigh Valley.

“Many LGBT youth lack family support, so the generosity of Flawless Angels Cleaning to make it possible for the youth we serve to experience Thanksgiving together is really significant” said Adrian Shanker, Executive Director, Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. “Robert and Montana embody the best of corporate social responsibility — their philanthropic support is making a true difference for LGBT youth in our community.”
