SteelStacks Hosting Derby Viewing Party May 5 at Levitt Pavilion



 

BETHLEHEM, PA—Live Dixieland music, people decked out in their finest derby attire and all the excitement that comes with one of the most prestigious horse races in the world will be on display as SteelStacks hosts a Derby Viewing Party May 5, 3-7 p.m., on the Levitt Pavilion Lawn. Admission to the event, presented by Brown Forman, is free. A limited number of VIP tickets, which include access to the special VIP seating section, food and a coupon good for one free Mint Julep, are now on sale. VIP tickets, which cost $50 for the public and $45 for ArtsQuest Members, can be purchased at www.steelstacks.org and 610-332-3378.

At the Derby Viewing Party, the audience can watch the race on the Levitt Pavilion’s outdoor screen while enjoying live music by the Barrel House Brothers, playing backyard games like cornhole and quoits; and sipping the viewing party’s official drink, the Mint Julep.

Attendees are invited to come dressed in their best derby attire and take part in contests like Fanciest Lady’s Hat and Best Bowtie. Two horses from the Mounted Patrol Unit of the Bethlehem Police Department will make appearances during the event.  Derby-themed drinks will be avaible for purchase, as will a special menu featuring southern cuisine.
